“when observing the observer" explores what we see when we look. For the Fall semester of 2023 I received the Goodall Visiting Fellowship at Wofford College. As fellow, I decided to inhabit the role of the observer in my interactions with Glendale Shoal Preserve, located roughly 20 minutes from the campus. The following is an initial presentation of my recordings, which will be expanded in Summer 2025. Exploring how observation, record, image, idea, and understandings shift, relate and expose one another under examination.
